Loch Boisdale, South Uist Island
Step ashore on the Isle of Eriskay, on the very beach where Bonnie Prince Charlie first made landfall in Scotland on 23rd July 1745, accompanied by only seven supporters, before visiting the Am Politician pub. This local bar takes its name from the stricken vessel S.S Politician which ran aground off Eriskay in 1941. Here you will find some of the artefacts salvaged from the ship which ran aground with a cargo of 22,000 cases of Scotch whisky.
