Guest Speaker

Charlotte Eagar is an award-winning journalist, film-maker, community theatre producer and novelist. Despite having lived and worked from Sarajevo to Kabul and Rome, she has always returned to Scotland. Having learnt about Bonnie Prince Charlie at the (rather biased) knee of her (Stuart) grandmother, she is currently researching a biography of his long-term mistress and mother of his children, Clementina Walkinshaw. She is married to the theatre director and fellow Scot William Stirling. They are planning to build a house on Loch Morar. William Stirling is an award-winning film maker, theatre producer and director. He co-founded the Trojan Women Project producing award winning plays and with refugees and asylum seekers. He has had a deep love of Scottish history from a very early age, seen though stories of his own family’s involvement in great Scottish historical issues and crises going back to the Middle Ages. He is currently developing a film about Charles Edward Stuart’s escape from Culloden.
