Guest Speaker

David Barnes studied history at the University of York and theology at the University of Wales. He has spent most of his professional life teaching history and has published extensively on British history and topography. He commenced full-time work in expedition travel in 1998, and has since travelled the world in that capacity, returning to the Highlands of Scotland each summer for over twenty years. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 1998 and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2003.

Entering Loch Ness, we pass the romantic ruins of Urquhart Castle, before arriving at the scenic and historic village of Fort Augustus.
