Partially destroyed in a Jacobite uprising in 1719, Eilean Donan Castle lay in ruins for the best part of 200 years until Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap bought the island in 1911 and restored the castle to its former glory.

Embark on a walking tour of Oban which takes in the panoramic vistas from the folly of McCaig’s Tower at the top of Battery Hill.

At Glenfinnan, visit the iconic monument honouring the fallen Jacobite clansmen, framed by spectacular Highland scenery.

Fort Augustus
From sea level, Lord of the Highlands ascends the spectacular eight interconnected locks of Neptune’s Staircase to Banavie, and we spend the day relaxing on board we transit the length of the canal which connect the Great Glen’s four lochs.

Our final visit is the traditional Scottish Castle built and inhabited by the Cawdor family for over 600 years. The ancient medieval tower is constructed around a legendary holly tree.
