We are delighted to announce that Hebridean Princess stars in a new hour-long documentary, Scotland’s Highlands & Islands with Lewis Nunn, produced by Elévé in partnership with Hebridean Island Cruises. Presented and executive produced by Lewis Nunn, the documentary follows a seven-night Botanical Wonders of the West Coast round-trip from Oban, filmed in May 2025, exploring the Inner Hebrides — a diverse archipelago of 35 inhabited and 44 uninhabited islands renowned for their dramatic landscapes, fresh seafood, whisky and Gaelic culture.
We were thrilled to welcome Lewis on board for the sailing, and are enormously grateful to our own crew, our guides and, not least, the guests who sailed with us that week, without whom it would never have been such a memorable voyage to film.
During the voyage, Lewis:
Enjoyed a tasting of fresh langoustines, mussels and scallops in Oban
Visited the Oban Distillery and the Colonsay Gin Distillery
Took a boat trip from Craobh Haven around the Slate Islands and Jura
Joined a guided tour through the abandoned townships of Mull to learn about the Highland Clearances
Saddled up for a beach horse trek in Gairloch
Enjoyed a tour and tasting at Loch Torridon Smokehouse
Joined the proprietor of Attadale House and gardens on a private tour
Explored Raasay with one of Hebridean Princess’s own guides
Lewis Nunn comments: “I’ve always felt drawn to Scotland: the Celtic heritage, deep-rooted traditions and the sense of mystery. So when the opportunity came up to sail around the Inner Hebrides on board a luxury boutique cruise ship, I leaped at the chance. Sailing on Hebridean Princess wasn’t anything I could have imagined: the intimacy of it all, hopping between Scotland’s tiny islands and untouched mainland ports, from Colonsay to Gairloch, with a crew who felt more like family. It’s utterly convinced me that small-ship cruising is, by far, the most extraordinary way to see Scotland.”
Ken Charleson, managing director of Hebridean Island Cruises, adds: “This documentary captures the soul of small ship cruising in Scotland: the quiet moments, the wild beauty and the deep connection between people, place and sea. It’s not just about the journey through these remarkable waters, but about slowing down enough to truly experience them. We’re proud to be part of a story that reflects our passion for this beautiful destination.”
