Tuesday 9th to Tuesday 16th August 2022

This cruise explores the scenic south coast of Devon and Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and Lundy before steaming the Bristol Channel to the vibrant Welsh capital.

Tuesday 9th August

For the final time this season, guests embarked in Portland before we set sail for our overnight anchorage off Beer Head.

Wednesday 10th August

A morning cruise of the south coast of England brought us to Dartmouth where we anchored in the River Dart. After lunch guests took the local ferry to visit Greenway House or explored Dartmouth independently.

We anchored overnight at the entrance of Fowey Harbour.

Thursday 11th August

This morning guests went ashore in Fowey, Cornwall, to explore the mysterious Lost Gardens of Heligan, seat of the Tremayne family for more than 400 years.

We spent the afternoon cruising on passage towards Falmouth, Cornwall where we berthed overnight.

Friday 12th August

Set on a headland with breathtaking views out to sea, Pendennis Castle played host to our morning visit. One of Henry VIII’s finest coastal fortresses which has defended Cornwall since Turdor times, it also played a vital role during both World Wars.

We spent the afternoon cruising on passage towards the Isles of Scilly where we anchored off overnight.

Saturday 13th August

This morning a local boat was available to take guests to visit Tresco and the sub-tropical Abbey Gardens, home to thousands of exotic plants.

An afternoon sail of the north Cornwall coast brought us to Lundy Island where we anchored off overnight.

Sunday 14th August

Guests enjoyed walks ashore on Lundy Island, a 400 feet peaceful and unspoiled granite outcrop which supports a variety of rare and spectacular wildlife.

We spent the afternoon cruising the Bristol Channel on passage towards Avonmouth.

We shall arrived and berthed alongside in Portbury Docks, Avonmouth where we remained overnight.

Monday 15th August

From Avonmouth, guests visited Tyntesfield Estate this morning, an ornate Victorian Gothic Revival house with extensive garden and parkland.

After lunch, our final visit was Berkeley Castle, the ancient fortress home of the Berkeley family since the late 12th century.

We arrived and berthed alongside in Cardiff this evening where we the Farewell Gala Dinner was held and we remained overnight.

Tuesday 16th August.

Disembarkation took place after breakfast in Cardiff and the Captain, officers and crew waved a fond farewell to our guests.
