6th November - Argyll's Secret Coast

Join Hebridean Princess as she uncovers some of the delights of Argyll's secret coast, exploring Britain's longest sea loch and some of the diverse islands which pepper the Firth of Clyde.

Tuesday, 6th November.

Once embarkation had been completed in Greenock and the safety drill had taken place, we set sail to our overnight anchorage in Rothesay Bay off the Isle of Bute. 

Wednesday, 7th November.

During breakfast we cruised to Largs for our morning trip on the local ferry across to Great Cumbrae and a visit to the Cathedral of the Isles.

Following lunch on board guests travelled to Ardgowan House for a guided tour conducted by the owner, 12th Baronet Sir Ludovic Shaw Stewart. 

We anchored overnight in Brodick Bay off the Isle of Arran. 

Thursday, 8th November.

This morning guests were tendered ashore in Tarbert, Loch Fyne to enjoy walks ashore.  

In the afternoon guests were tendered ashore at Strachur Pontoon for the afternoon visit to Inveraray Jail .  

We anchored overnight off Strachur, Loch Fyne. 

Friday, 9th November.

From Strachur guests travelled by coach to visit Auchindrain Township museum to discover Scotland's rural history.

After lunch at Loch Fyne Oyster House, our afternoon visit was Strachur House for a tour of the house and gardens.

We anchored overnight at Otter Spit, Loch Fyne.

Saturday, 10th November.

Over breakfast we sailed to Brodick, Isle of Arran from where guests travelled to Lochranza for a tour and tasting at Arran Distillery.

After a fantastic afternoon cruise of the Kyles of Bute we anchored overnight off Holy Loch where guests could watch the local firework display from the ship. 

Sunday, 11th November.

From our berth in Rothesay, guests could opt to join an island tour of Bute, join the remembrance day service at Trinity church or explore the town independently.

Our final visit from Holy Loch was Historic Kilmun and the Argyll Mausoleum.

The Farewell Gala Dinner was held at anchor off Greenock. 

Monday, 12th November.

Sadly the cruise came to an end in Greenock this morning and disembarkation took place at the Ocean Cruise Terminal.
