1st October - Footloose to the Emerald Isle

Embrace the Celtic spirit on this tantalising Footloose cruise through scenery steeped in myth and mystery.  From mainland Scotland to the legendary beauty of the Antrim coast, by way of some of the Inner Isles' most awesome landscapes, Hebridean Princess takes a magical and memorable journey. 

Tuesday, 1st October.

Cruising south from Oban, down the Firth of Lorn, we anchored overnight in Loch Sween. 

Wednesday, 2nd October.

This morning all guests were tendered ashore at Tayvallich for walks and strolls around the scenic fishing village.

Over lunch we sailed to the Isle of Gigha where the Footloose walkers enjoyed an afternoon walk and the strollers visited Achamore Gardens.


We arrived and berthed alongside in Port Ellen, Isle of Islay, this evening, where we remained overnight. 

Thursday, 3rd October.

Whilst the Footloose walkers strode out for a full-day walk on the Isle of Islay, the strollers visited Finlaggan, enjoyed lunch at the Port Charlotte Hotel and toured the Kilchoman Distillery.

We remained alongside overnight in Port Ellen, Islay. 

Friday, 4th October.

This morning all guests visited Port Ellen Lighthouse, the walkers on foot and the strollers travelled by coach travelled by coach to Kilnaughton Sands.

During lunch we sailed the North Channel to Rathlin Island for afternoon walks on the island. 

We anchored overnight off Rathlin Island. 

Saturday, 5th October.

Today was spent  in Northern Ireland where the walkers enjoyed a full day walk from Ballycastle along the coast.

The strollers visited the Giant’s Causeway in the morning and the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge in the afternoon.

We anchored overnight off West Loch Tarbert, Argyll. 

Sunday, 6th October.

Morning walks at Loch na Mile, Jura, were the order of the day. 

From Ardfern we spent the afternoon exploring Kilmartin House Museum of Ancient Culture and walking through the glen which is peppered with over 800 ancient monuments.

We anchored overnight off Crinan. 

Monday, 7th October.

Our final morning was spent at Crinan where guests were tendered ashore for walks along the towpath of the canal and through the woods.

After a sail northwards during lunch, we berthed alongside in Oban and tendered guests ashore to the Isle of Kerrera for afternoon walks on the island.

The Farewell Gala dinner was held alongside in Oban where we remained overnight.

Tuesday, 8th October.

Our final Footloose adventure of 2019 came to an end in Oban this morning and the Captain, Officers and crew waved a fond farewell to our disembarking guests.
