14th September - Footloose to Lochs and Isles

Tuesday, 14th September.

Guests were piped aboard in Oban and we set sail for our overnight anchorage in Bloody Bay off the Isle of Mull.

Wednesday, 15th September.

Our morning port of call was the Isle of Eigg where the walkers tackled the dramatic pitchstone ridge of An Sgurr and the strollers enjoyed more leisurely walks on the island.

The afternoon was spent cruising the Sound of Sleat, Kyle Rhea, under the Skye Bridge and the Narrows, on passage towards our overnight anchorage off Shieldaig. 

Thursday, 16th September.

The walkers disembarked the ship in Shieldaig this morning for a full day walk, re-joining the ship in Gairloch this afternoon.

The strollers enjoyed morning in Shieldaig. After lunch on board they visited Inverewe Gardens. 

We anchored overnight off the Crowlin Islands.

Friday, 17th September.

We arrived and berthed alongside in Kyle this morning where the walkers went on a full day walk in the south of Skye.

The strollers visited Eilean Donan Castle this morning and Plockton in the afternoon.

We anchored overnight off Inverie.

Saturday, 18th October.

All guests spent the morning exploring the village of Inverie and visited Britain's remotest pub,the Old Forge Inn for drinks. 

A relaxing afternoon on board was enjoyed as we sailed past the Small Isles and the west coast of Mull on passage towards our overnight anchorage to the north of Bunessan, Isle of Mull.

Sunday, 19th October.

We spent the morning cruising, past Fingal’s Cave on Staffa, on passage towards the Isle of Ulva.

This afternoon we landed on the Isle of Ulva where guests took strolls on the island, indulged in refreshments from the hamper and were treated to exhilarating speed boat rides.

 

 


We anchored overnight in Tobermory harbour. 

Monday, 20th September.

We spent the day in Tobermory where the walkers strode out for a full day on Treshnish Headland whilst the strollers visited Duart Castle in the morning and had some free time to explore Tobermory in the afternoon.

 

We anchored overnight in Charlotte Bay off Kerrera where the Farewell Gala Dinner was held. 

Tuesday, 21st September.

Guests disembarked in Oban after breakfast and we hope they have enjoyed the first Footloose adventure of the year.
