11th June - Celtic Panorama

The beauty and drama of the Celtic coasts of western Scotland and Northern Ireland have inspired numerous artists to capture the character of these landscapes and convey their every nuance to the viewer.  We too can absorb these inspirational views and renowned private collections at Glenarm castle and Dumfries House.

Tuesday, 11th June.

Guests were welcomed on board this afternoon by the Captain, Officers and crew.  When embarkation was complete we set sail from Oban on passage to our overnight anchorage off Ardfern Marina.

Wednesday, 12th June.

This morning guests were tendered ashore at Crinan to visit the gallery in the Crinan Hotel to view work by owner Frances Macdonald and her son Ross Ryan, or to enjoy walks along the towpath of the canal.

The afternoon was spent cruising the Sound of Islay and the North Channel on passage to our overnight anchorage off the Mull of Kintyre.

Thursday, 13th June.

We arrived in Larne, Northern Ireland, where guests enjoyed a morning visit to the Ulster Museum which houses art collections by Jack Butler Yeats, William Conor, John Luke and Sir John Lavery.

The award-winning Titanic Exhibition played host to our afternoon visit and we remained alongside in Larne overnight.
