11th August - Gems of the South Coast II

Let Hebridean Princess transport you to the enchanting Lundy Island and Isles of Scilly before exploring the scenic south coast of England.

Wednesday, 11th August.

Embarkation took place this afternoon at Queen Alexandra Docks in Cardiff and we remained alongside overnight.

Thursday, 12th August.

The maiden visit on this cruise was Cardiff Castle, which conceals 2,000 years of history.

In the afternoon, guests explored the ambitious Edwardian garden revival at Dyffryn Gardens ahead of sailing to our overnight anchorage at Blue Anchor Roads off Minehead.

Friday, 13th August.

Guests enjoyed morning walks on Lundy Island, a peaceful and unspoiled granite outcrop in the Birstol Channel which supports a variety of rare and spectacular wildlife.

We will remained at anchor off Lundy for the afternoon and sailed overnight on passage to the Isles of Scilly. 

Saturday, 14th August.

This morning we anchored off St Mary’s and the local boat took guests ashore to embark on the Garrison walking tour.

Guests spent the afternoon relaing on board as we cruised on passage towards Falmouth where we berthed alongside and remained overnight.

Sunday, 15th August.

After a morning spent discovering one of Henry VII's finest fortresses, Pendennis Castle, we travelled to Fowey for an afternoon visit to Tregrehan Gardens.

We anchored overnight off Plymouth.

Monday, 16th August.

After breakfast, guests disembarked in Plymouth for a walking tour which included a visit to the Mayflower Museum which explores the areas maritime history and tells the story of the Mayflower Pilgrims and their 1620 voyage to the New World.

During lunch we sailed to Dartmouth for an afternoon walking tour of the town. We remained alongside overnight in Dartmouth. 

Tuesday, 17th August.

After a morning at sea on passage towards Portland, we berthed alongside for our afternoon visit to Athelhampton House.


The Farewell Gala dinner was held alongside in Portland where we remained overnight.

Wednesday, 18th August.

After breakfast, disembarkation was completed in Portland and guests were waved farewell by the Captain and crew.
