How better to experience the wonders of the Fjordland than on foot, far off the beaten trail? Gouged out by glaciation, a chain of soaring peaks plunge into narrow, U-shaped fjord valleys, graced by cascading waterfalls. King of the fjords, Sognefjord is undisputed as the longest and deepest in Norway, winding its way majestically for 127 miles (203 km) deep into the remote hinterland. Savour the power of its wild beauty and the fresh pure air during the long white nights of the Summer solstice from the luxury of Hebridean Princess.
