Active some 520 to 400 million years ago, the Highland Boundary Fault separated Highland from Lowland Scotland, creating sharply contrasting landscapes from north to south. Rich in beauty, wildlife and history, they are all the more magnificent in the burnished hues of late autumn – gold, bronze, copper and silver. To celebrate the close of another rewarding season, join us in the warm and comfortable surroundings of Hebridean Princess on a quest for the treasures of Kintyre.

Take in the spectacular scenery of ‘Scotland in miniature’ on a morning tour of Arran from Brodick. In the afternoon, visit to the famous Cheese Shop and Arran Aromatics. Ashore at Campbeltown on Kintyre, learn more of single malt at Scotland’s oldest family-owned distillery, Springbank, founded by Archibald Mitchell in 1828. Escape to another private world on Sanda Island off the Mull of Kintyre, home to the fourth bird observatory in Scotland.

Loch Fyne is breathtaking on a morning cruise to the picturesque fishing village of Tarbert, overlooked by the grassy ruins of Tarbert Castle, a medieval royal stronghold reputedly linked with Robert the Bruce. Cruise to Tighnabruaich on Argyll’s secret coast for sweeping panoramas from the Viewpoint over Loch Riddon and the narrow Kyles of Bute. Landing in the sheltered wildlife haven of Holy Loch, amble through the magnificent Giant Redwood avenue into exotic Benmore Botanic Garden covering 150 acres of dramatic Cowal mountainside. Charles Rennie MacKintosh’s Art Nouveau jewel, Hill House, perhaps his finest domestic creation, is the last of our treasures.
